WorkFlowy: Note, List, Outline App Reviews

Top-notch brain organizer

My whole brain lives in Workflowy now. I can no longer imagine how Id manage my life without it.

Good but still a tease

I love browser-based workflowy -- it was always great and has gotten better and better. The iPad version is sadly a fair bit worse. We cant drag bullets to re-order, we cant skip lines using keyboard arrows, and we cant select whole bullets (just text within a single bullet. There is also no italics, no bold, and no underlining support that I can tell. Still useful, but definitely some comparative bummers, here.

I use WF every day!

WorkFlowy is so simple and it does exactly what you want it to do: keeps simple lists. And its hierarchy is perfect. Use it.

Love It (but needs an app for my Mac)

Very well thought out app for iPhone and syncs quickly with the website. Ive tried several other To Do sites and organizers like this but this is the best one ever. If you like lists, youll love workflowy. I just wish they had an app for my MacBook. Maybe one day.

Great website, weak app

Workflowy is a fantastic idea and the desktop execution is great. This, however, is a half-baked app and needs a total makeover. 1. You cannot move up or down with an external keyboard 2. The skin is dated and not matching the general flat design of other apps. 3. The themes that come with pro version are not useable on this app. I have dark mode on the website, but I still see white as my theme in the app. 4. There are no useable shortcut keys with an external keyboard. 5. Its a non native app wrapped in a native shell; this is not necessarily bad if the framework they use is responsive and high quality, but that is not the case. Please devs, allow the desktop app on iPad or make a better experience.

Great "To Do" List App

I love this app! Its been really helpful; I keep the website open on my computer at work and home and use the app on the phone when Im out. My manager and I also share a "long term project" list and whenever one of us updates it, the updates come through to the other persons list as well. This is great for anyone who is tired of constantly writing out lists on paper but dont like the idea of using their notepad on their phone.

My Favorite

Simple. Responsive. Elegant. I love this app so much. Thank you to its maker. xx

Get mobile to be better

Great app, but the mobile version is still lacking in functionality. No ability to drag rows around is one example.

Dont trust with any data & poor support

This app stopped recognizing my sign on. Emailed to reset password even though I knew mine was correct. Didnt recognize my email address! Emailed support. No Reply!!!!!

Promise unfulfilled (so far)

I really want to like the iOS version of Workflowy. But it is very far from feature parity with the web app, and the deficits are very frustrating. * No documentation, apparently. This may be the most egregious issue, since I am unable to deduce how to do something simple (like complete a task in a list). * Very little support for external keyboards, and apparently no support for external keyboard shortcuts (I dont know for sure because there is apparently no documentation). * Features that are either unavailable or hidden behind some arcane UI I cant decipher: like starred pages, multi-select, item completion, etc. I could go on but the developers know whats missing. So I am disappointed. I honestly do not see the exact point behind releasing this app before it has at least got documentation and the same features as the web app, especially since the app appears to be updated only once a year. That would be fine if the app worked better...but it is intolerable for an app that has as many problems as this. Once again, I wish I could like it. I really do. But I just cant.

Simple and effective

I just wanted an app to make tiered lists. This app does that and little else. And I love it for that. It doesnt have extensive scheduling features or a billion other useless (to me) options to say yes to everytime I want to make a list. It makes lists and doesnt ask for anything else. Its clean, it syncs perfectly, and it is minimalistic. My only complaint is that rearranging items is sometimes hit or miss. That could be improved.

Needs work

As a Workflowy fan I find this app more difficult to work with than the webbased one.

Pure brilliance: A reflection of anyones brain, in any breadth.

I cannot express. This app. Amazing.

Great App

I dont really see anything constructive about the negative criticism for this App. Its obviously an ongoing work in progress. You can backup your data to Dropbox if you have a paid account which is pretty reasonable. I think its a good project headed in the right direction. My only criticism is that the developers need to consider some different design elements for their mobile App version as it can be more difficult to navigate with fingers than the website version (workflowy.com) with a mouse. The developers seem to know what theyre doing and I think that with a little patience from their audience, have a great platform to work with. Great job guys/gals (?) !!! Please keep up the good work and keep the updates coming. As a developer, myself, I have come to depend on this App heavily.

Good for a grump

Nice call Arin I like this

Hey Im Grump

And Im not so Grump. And were the Game Grumps.

Hard to move items

It is very hard to move items between lists in the iPhone app

Wonderful, clean

Obviously the desktop version will be better, see the big picture! This app is a must have. Simply put this app cuts out distraction and lets you focus. Every other app on the market is cluttered and over complicated with superfluous features. This design shows the discipline and restraint of maturity.

Great!!!!!!

Arin Hanson on Game Grumps recommended this app for being organized and I really love it! 10/10 !!

Love it!

Easy to use for a electronically challenged individual (:
