WorkFlowy: Note, List, Outline App Reviews

Keep it simple - the best task/notes app for me

The simplicity is key to why this app integrates so well into my day. Accesible from anywhere (iphone, ipad, browser). The zoom in to lists minimizes distraction and allows for totally seperate spaces. The infinite hierarchies are great to customize everything to my needs. The daily mail of changes is a great reminder and great for history. Only one point of critique: i would prefer to make a one time payment rather then paying monthly.

Endless possibilities

To-do list, project resources, brainstorming tool, tag it, filter it, love it!!! This tool is so simple to use, yet so complex in its possibilities. It adapts to your brain and your ways, rather than the other way around.

Good product, poor user experience

I love using Workflowy in the browser (I have a pro account), but I get the feeling that the iOS version has been assembled in a few days just to have an app for that platform. The user experience is poor, the buttons are too small. Im using a bluototh keyboard where I noticed that you cant navigate with the arrow keys between rows. Also Id like to be able to close a subtree of the document without the cursor vanishing from the current text position. So all in all, it works and I just used it throughout a conference to make notes, but the user interface has to be improved.

Great but please improve!!!

You know what to improve

App discovery of the year!

I love taking notes in a structured way. I am an Evernote Pro member and also use mindnode for my mind maps. I have tested them all. Workflowy beats them all when just taking notes in a structured way. Easy, fast and searchable. I finally got the feature Evernote was lacking for my notes: simplicity. I still use Evernote for the rest (clippings, file, etc) but my structured notes are now and only in Workflowy. Well done guys! Looking forward to have a better favorites management in the app as well.

Workflowy for iOS

This rating is only for the iOS version, since the product itself is great! It looks like the user experience was not the main focus of this app. The buttons should be in keyboard range not on top of the screen. Also switching between notes and headlines is not very convenient. The favorites are also not really reachable (a menu on the left with favorites would be nice). Drag and drop is not very convenient and an undo function is missing. Update: To switch between lines when editing, its necessary to tap on the new line twice. One to change focus (keyboard disappears) one to set the cursor (keyboard re-appears). All in all workflowy (web client) is a really great tool. I just hope a iOS version update with improved features is on the way.

Simplicity is the ultimate Sophistication

WorkFlowy is as minimalistic as possible with ( only few ) additional features well thought through - wonderful! Collaboration, Zoom / Focus Mode … missing is: offline mode, delete / move item, sort options … Keep up the good work! Update 09.11.2015: Landscape and offline mode have been added. Great! UX could still be improved though.

No real Editor

Workflowy is great. Especially the web app. But the iOS clients are quite poorly designed. The most annoying thing is that you cannot use it like a real text editor. Once you are trying to jump between lines, you always have to press twice. First tap to hide the keyboard and make selection possible, and another one to select the target line and make the keyboard visible again. If you happen to tap the wrong line you are about to tap six times until you can continue. Here are some other deficits: Selection of multiple lines not possible. Indentation of multiple lines not possible. Manual indentation takes forever since you have to tap each line at least three times! The action keys are not in range of the keyboard. "Collapse all" is not possible. No autocomplete of existing tags, so typing errors are common. No favorites. No jumping to the top. Search is only available from the top page of the document. Search doesnt have suggestion feature. The app is crashing quite often.

Simple, fast, useful - I love it

Very useful app. One of the few apps I use every day without even thinking about it. My only worry is that they go out of business soon since they give way too much for free.

Fab.

Great app. Simple and easy. Sync is smooth.

Time saver

Now I have my lists wherever I go. Work and personal lists are categorized and all in one place. And I can move items when I need to. This is a great time saver and a great organizational tool.

Very Useful

Journal and reference.

Excellent

Well organized and functional. Really enjoy using this app to organized thoughts and plans.

Important App

Increases my Productivity, helps with never losing track of pretty much anything.

Excellent

Simple. Clean. Flexible. Powerful. Offline with synching. Sharing. GREAT! Im replacing wunderlist, things and outliner for all the things I do at home, at work and for my startup.

Clean app

Easy to track things to do, group them by different categories, interface is so simple and the best of all you get an email everyday on what was added/completed etc. you can also update directly in the website.

Workflowy is awesome!

I love using workflowy on the web, and the mobile app is a nice addition. I have a section of my workflowy tree called #mobile, and I zoom in to that section on my iPhone. Any notes I write while on the go can then easily be found and relocated to other sections of my workflowy tree once I return to my computer.

Solid organizational tool

Simple, Intuitive, Practical.

Simple, powerful and elegant

I tried a lot of list and todo app, but at the end, I always found that using them on a daily basis add too much overhead. This tool is great because of it simplicity. But it is also very powerful with the sublist view, hashtag and notes functionalities. Thanks !

Really useful

Simple, powerful, intuitive, and actually sort of fun. I wouldnt be finishing my PhD thesis without it.
